City scientist gets Young Information Scientist award

Sivakami Dhulap,a city-based scientist from Unit for Research and Development of Information Products (URDIP),a Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) institution,has won this year’s Young Information Scientist Award.

Sivakami Dhulap,a city-based scientist from Unit for Research and Development of Information Products (URDIP),a Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) institution,has won this year’s Young Information Scientist Award. She has been chosen for the award for her efforts and contributions to ‘patinformatics’ and ‘cheminformatics’,said R R Hirwani,head of URDIP. The award will be presented to her at the International Conference on Recent Trends in Patinformatics organised by the Society of Information Sciences (SIS) and CSIR-URDIP to analyse trends in patenting. This is the first time URDIP has won an award from SIS,said Hirwani. The conference will be held from December 9 to December 11. An exhibition by software and database producers to showcase the latest products and services will also be held at the three-day seminar.
