Manipulations regarding date of birth,competition-related facts about athletes/sportsmen may be soon be a thing of the past.

City-based A2S Solutions has developed magnetic strip cards (on the lines of ATM cards) for sportspersons that will make information regarding them available at the click of a button.

The card, which will have the name,ID number and the state the athlete belongs to transcribed on it,will help the authorities such as sports federations access the data of their sportsmen on the computer screen with just one swipe. The prototype will be unveiled by the company on March 20.

Shekhar Bakhale of A2S Solutions said,“We had developed a smart card some time ago. However, there was a need to make simplified version of the card available to various sports bodies in the country. The new card is easy to use and provides the basic data relating to the athlete available at the click of a button. Also, the information on the card can be increased further as per the requirements of the respective sports federation.”

The company is in talks with a few sports bodies regarding the utility of these cards for maintaining a database of sportspersons.

The company has tied up with Infoserve,a software company,to provide an interactive solution to store sportsman- related data in digital form. “The data is in digital form and thus is non-manipulative. Besides, though we are targeting sports federations as probable clients, the utility of the card for corporate clients,MIS data,Human Resources and employee-related data cannot be nullified,” added Bakhale.
