Assault on RTI activist: SC grants bail to builder

The Supreme Court has granted bail to builder Umesh Goel (55) booked for allegedly plotting attack on RTI applicant Arvind Kaushal on April 8. “The interim bail has been granted against Rs 30,000 personal bond with one or two solvent sureties till the final disposal of the main bail application pending before the Pune district and sessions court,” said S K Jain,counsel for Goel. Police had earlier arrested Ganesh Chonde,a former employee of the construction firm,for allegedly receiving Rs 50,000 from Goel to attack Kaushal.
