Day temp dips,wind brings in the chill

The city experienced a dip in maximum temperature on Saturday by almost 4 °C,to touch 24.9 °C. There was a slight dip in the minimum temperature as well. The weather department predicts the maximum will be somewhere around the same on Monday too. Satish Gaonkar,director,weather forecast department,IMD,Pune,said,“The maximum saw a dip of about 4 degrees yesterday owing to cloudy weather and cold winds. Today the maximum was about 24.9. Even if it was not cloudy today,the dip was because of winds.”

Gaonkar said similar conditions may be seen tomorrow. “There won’t be a lot of difference in the minimum. The maximum,however,can dip further because of winds.”

Dacoits enter house,murder man,son

A 55-year-old man,Popat Kesu Vanve and his son Dashrath were murdered allegedly by five armed dacoits who entered their house at Jarkarwadi village in Ambegon tehsil,50 km from city. Dashrath’s wife was injured in the incident. Police said the crime took place around 2:30 am on Sunday. Manchar police said five men entered the house and when Dashrath offered resistance they murdered the father-son duo with sharp weapons. They robbed Rs 2000 and jewellery worth Rs 18,000 and in the process hit Dashrath’s wife Poonam on the head,injuring her.
