Service chiefs to visit NDA

All three current service chiefs will visit their alma mater academy NDA as part of the NDA POP celebrations this year. During their visit,the three chiefs will visit the Hunter Squadron NDA at 05.15 pm on November 27. All the three chiefs are passouts of successive courses of the NDA.

C-DAC alumni meet tomorrow

Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) alumni meet will be held on November 27 at 6 pm at Sadanand Resorts. More than 300 alumni have already registered for the event. The purpose of the meet is to facilitate an informal interaction between the alumni of C-DAC’s Advanced Computing Training School (ACTS) from various batches of C-DAC courses.

Ornithology course to promote awareness

To promote scientific awareness about birds,avian ecology and conservation aspects amongst common people and students,ELA Foundation,Pune and MES Abasaheb Garware College,Pune,have jointly initiated Certificate Course in Basic Ornithology.

One booked for raping nurse

Pimpri police booked Surendra Laximan Bhose (31),a clerk at the tehsildar office in Ratnagiri,for allegedly raping a nurse working at a hospital by making false promises of marriage. T D Gaud,senior police inspector with Pimpri police station,said,“The accused and the complainant decided to marry in 2006 but the parents of the accused opposed it. She said he allegedly raped her few months ago and she got pregnant.”
