Catch city circus team on small screen

It was an exciting week for members of the Pune-based Rambo Circus,as they changed canvas and shot for a TV audience.

They were shooting for Comedy Circus,on Sony TV. They were cast in the show and the shoting was at the Rambo Circus venue in Mumbai. They shot for four days. The channel has plans to shoot episodes here for the next one year. They are yet to give us a schedule and requirement of artistes. We are told each episode will have two-three people from the circus, said Sujit Dilip,owner,Rambo Circus.

One of the clowns,38-year-old Biju Nair,feels TV will add to popularity of circus artistes. Rajeev Chatterjee was surprised by the down-to-earth attitude actors. We had a great time shooting with stand-up comedians like Bharati and Saloni. We have seen them perform on TV but acting with them was an altogether different experience, said Nair,who now shares a great rapport with Surinder,the tabla-player at the show. Although being on the sets with actors like Rakhi Sawant,Archana Puran Singh,Krishnaa and others was exciting for everyone at Rambo Circus,Nair specifically recalls Mithun Chakrabortys words. The actor, present at the show said,We are not stars,you,the circus people are the real stars.

Since it is a theme-based show and our next theme is circus,we approached Rambo Circus. It will give a realistic look to the show and bring TV actors and comedians closer to the characters, said Nilesh Patankar,head of Optimistic India Pvt Ltd,producer of Comedy Circus.

This is not the first time the Rambo Circus team is facing the camera. Many of them were part of Zoya Akhtars Luck By Chance. Some have worked for ad films,too.
