Cataract surgery camp held

A free ‘phaco surgery’ camp by advanced microscopic method for cataract patients was held at Sane Guruji Arogya Kendra,Hadapsar,on Saturday.

A free ‘phaco surgery’ camp by advanced microscopic method for cataract patients was held at Sane Guruji Arogya Kendra,Hadapsar,on Saturday. It was organised by Maharashtra Arogya Mandal Chetan Tupe,corporator and president of Sane Guruji Shikshan Sanstha,who was chief guest,said the recent attacks on hospitals and doctors was a worrisome trend.

The programme was presided by senior ophthalmic surgeon of Netra Seva Pratisthan Pune,Dr Madhusudan Jhamwar. As mansy as 50 patients were successfully operated upon by surgeons Dr Rajesh Pawar,Dr Sharad Patil,Dr Sanjay Patil,Dr Nilakshi Pradhan,Dr. Siddharth Pawar,anaesthetists Dr Milind Joshi and Dr Jyoti Jaikar. “This was an unique camp where operations were done by stitchless Phaco emulsification method,” said a press release issued here.
