Suzlon Energy wins repeat order from Malpani group

Suzlon Energy Ltd has won a repeat order from the Malpani group to set up,operate and maintain projects of 29.7 MW capacity. In the sixth order to Suzlon,the Malpani group has opted to include Suzlon’s recently launched S9X turbines in the product mix. The 29.7 MW order comprises of five units of S95 – 2.1 MW,seven units of Suzlon’s S88 – 2.1 MW and three units of Suzlon’s S82 – 1.5 MW wind turbine generators. This project will take Malpani Group’s total wind capacity to more than 125 MW,the energy sufficent to provide electricity to 72,000 households. Rajesh Malpani of Malpani group,said,“ This is an important step forward in our efforts to create a sustainable energy portfolio for our group,and build on our earlier successful projects with the Suzlon group. “

Now,skype video calling on embedded devices

Persistent Systems has announced skype video calling on embedded devices like connected TVs,IP set top boxes,mobile internet devices and media phones. The solution accelerator developed by Persistent’s multimedia technology group is based on skype’s skypekit SDK and addresses complex challenges of enabling skype video calling on a wide variety of embedded devices with diverse use cases. The solution accelerator has been successfully ported on several tier 1 OEM chipsets running on Android and Linux operating systems. “ Skype has revolutionised the audio and video communication experience over the Internet,” said Sachin Kurlekar,head of Persistent’s multimedia group.

Gandhe Universal executive director

Banking professional Satish Gandhe has been appointed as executive director of Universal Construction Machinery and Equipment Ltd. Gandhe has 37 years of experience in banking and he is also director of non governmental organisation (NGO) Sahakar Vardhini. Satish also works as a consultant with Khanderai Pratishthan,an educational group,and had joined Universal after his retirement from Vishweshwar Sahakari bank. In his new role Satish Gandhe will be responsible for HR,business development,finance and administration.

Kaizen Institute opens office in city

Kaizen Institute India opened its office in the city recently to help companies maintain lean and green spaces. Jon Miller,executive director,Kaizen Institute consulting group worldwide said,“ On completion of its 10-th anniversary last year,Kaizen Institute India decided to expand it’s portfolio of services to help clients reduce energy consumption,reduce pollution and make processes eco-friendly.” The office opened by the Kaizen is a “green” office and the institute expects the office to get LEED gold certification. Vinod Grover,founding partner and director,Kaizen Institute India said,“ In India,economic liberalisation ushered in an era of accelerated growth. The decade 1991-2000 saw the first wave – the quality wave,the first decade of the current century 2001 to 2010 witnessed second wave,the operational excellence wave. The current decade starting 2011 is bringing us the third wave – lean and green wave.”
