Bullets fired at former PCMC corporator

Unidentified assailants shot at former Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation corporator Manoj Khanolkar at Kiwale near Dehu Road on Thursday.

The Pune rural police said the incident took place around 7.30 pm. Khanolkar was on his way back home from a grocery shop when he was attacked. The suspects shot at him thrice. Khanolkar sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a private hospital in Kiwale,said an officer.

Police have been deployed in the area to avoid any incident as a reaction to the attack. The police said the number of culprits involved in the crime was not known yet,adding that they were trying to ascertain the motive behind the attack.
