Tech Mahindra on Tuesday announced second-quarter revenue of Rs 1,533.9 crore for the quarter ended September 30. Operating profit was Rs 281.8 crore,a growth of 32.5% over the previous quarter.

PUNE: Tech Mahindra on Tuesday announced second-quarter revenue of Rs 1,533.9 crore for the quarter ended September 30. Operating profit was Rs 281.8 crore,a growth of 32.5% over the previous quarter. Profit after tax before earlier period items was Rs 186.7 crore,a growth of 28.8% over the previous quarter. During the quarter,Mahindra Satyam an associate company,reported its FY09 and FY10 results. Consequently,Tech Mahindra’s results include,in relation to its shareholding,a charge of Rs 36.7 crore on account of earlier period items for FY10 as reported by Mahindra Satyam. Profit after Tax after Tech Mahindra’s share of Mahindra Satyam’s earlier period items was Rs 150.7 crores.

Anand Mahindra,Chairman,Tech Mahindra said,“The robust quarterly performance reflects our strong capabilities in the telecom domain and our ability to provide multiple service offerings under one umbrella.” Vineet Nayyar,Vice Chairman,MD and CEO of Tech Mahindra said,“The quarter was one of execution in both service delivery and business acquisition. Our reach has increased with the addition of customer relationships across geographies.”

Force Motors posts 58 per cent increase in revenue

Pune-based auto major Force Motors posted a revenue increase of over 58% during the first half of the current fiscal year with a gross revenue of Rs 742 crore. Profit from operations before other income,financial expenses and exceptional items stood at Rs 43 crore as against Rs 7 crore during the same period last year. Prasan Firodia,MD,said,“Sales of all vehicle categories showed healthy growth. The sales of Traveller and the new SCV ‘Trump 40’ have been especially strong.” The company is targeting a top line of Rs 1800 crore during the current financial year. An all new SUV,in the premium segment,is also planned for the end of this financial year. Sales of its 50:50 joint venture,Man Force Trucks Pvt Ltd grew by 200% with a turnover of Rs 368 crores in the first half of the current year.
