In a bid to counter Congress-NCP alliance and the growth of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) in the state,the BJP will discuss the party strategy for the forthcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly polls at a two-day state executive committee meet to be inaugurated by party chief Rajnath Singh on Tuesday.
All senior party leaders,including MLAs,MLCs and MPs,are expected to attend the meeting along with party office-bearers of each city and district unit.
The party cadre would raise various issues pertaining to price rise,drought and law and order situation in the state, said Madhav Bhandari,state BJP spokesperson.
He said the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance has RPI (A) as the new member and the party has to accommodate it in the seat-sharing arrangement for the elections.
When asked about the party stand on MNS,the BJP spokersperson said the matter would be discussed with senior party leaders in a close-door meeting.
Bhandari criticised the Congress-NCP government for sitting on the Anti-Superstition Bill but failed to clarify the party stand on the ordinance.
The state government has approved 22 Acts in the last 14 years without the support of opposition parties. The Congress-led government could have done the same for the Anti-Superstition Bill but they failed to do so, he said,adding,the BJP has been actively involved in drafting the Bill by giving relevant suggestions.
The BJP spokesperson said he would comment on the ordinance when it is tabled in the Legislative Assembly for approval.
