BoM registrar for UID project
Bank of Maharashtra (BoM) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to become a registrar for delivery of the 12-digit unique numbers. BoM general manager (Delhi region) MC Goyal and UIDAI additional director general Rajesh Bansal signed the MoU in this regard in New Delhi. The bank will collaborate with the UIDAI in conducting proof of concept (PoC) studies,pilots to test the working of the technology and provide resources for the enrollment process.
SAP ACE Award for Sudarshan Chemicals

Griffon Tours to market Blue Ocean Cruise Lines
City- based Griffon Tours and Travels will handle the marketing and promotion of the domestic cruises launched by European Cruise Company — Blue Ocean Cruise Lines,which has announced one-night high seas,two-nights Goa and four-nights Lakshadweep cruise itineraries,starting October-end. Blue Ocean Cruise Lines managing director and CEO Onell Khosa said the nine-deck MV Ocean,refurbished in 2008,could accommodate 574 passengers in 231 cabins. “The company has tied up with Taj Hotels to cater for both Indian and international cuisines,including Jain meals,and will be serving five meals a day. The company has also tied up with Air India to promote the Fly Cruise package.
Cummins net sales crosses 1,000-cr mark
The net sales of Cummins India for the quarter ended September 30,2010 stood at Rs 1,067.5 crore,exceeding the Rs 1,000-crore mark for the first time. This represents a growth of 73 per cent over the same period last year and 17 per cent over the preceding quarter. It net profit before tax of Rs 228 crore was also at an all-time high,representing 91% growth over the same period last year.
Granules India records Rs 4.5-cr net profit
Granules India has announced its financial results for second quarter ended September 30 in 2011 fiscal. The net profit saw a dip from Rs 7.7 crore last year to Rs 4.5 crore this year. On a consolidated basis,Granules declared a revenue of Rs 117.9 crore and a net profit of Rs. 4.5 crore. The net sales was Rs 117.9 crore,as compared to the same period last year at Rs 114.5 crores. On a standalone basis,the company achieved sales of Rs 100.2 crore and a net profit of Rs 5.3 crore.
ShopSocially receives $1.1 mn funds
ShopSocially,a social recommendation engine for online shopping,has received $1.1 million from various sources,including investors Raman Khanna,Junglee founder Ashish Gupta and Dharmesh Thakker. The site,having over 10,000 product recommendations,will be helpful in providing shopping recommendations and discovering new products.
iParmar Group launches township project
Guardian minister Ajit Pawar conducted the bhoomipoojan ceremony of iParmar Group’s 34-acre township project,iParmar’s River Residency,at Dehu Alandi Road,Chikhali. Pimpri-Chinchwad Mayor Yogesh Behl was also present. River Residency,a joint project with Vijaylaxmi Group,has residential as well as commercial spaces.
