I started photography as a hobby and at the age of 12 years started professional photography. Being a South Indian it is very rare chance we get into photography and its a privilege to be here. I opted for bird photography because it has a greater challenge in the field of photography. You can observe world and the natures goddess with a keen eye. It has been an extensive travel in search of these ultimate photographs, he adds.
With many awards to his credit some of which include Jim Corbett award for best Nature Photography in 1990-91,Best Bird Portfolio award in 2004,award at Natures Best Magazine in America along with being the first Indian to be honored EFIAP and MFIAP,Satish is certainly one of the respected names in the field. There are two types of photographers, one class is of photographers and the other are the photo artists one of which is H.Satish, says admiral Jayant Nadkarni, chief guest at the function talking about Satish.
Satishs one of the rarest moments in photographic journey was when he saw an Indian Robin bird making a nest in the coconut shell and decided to create a cardboard nestwith the help of his friend and a female Robin bird approached it. “I have with my lenses caught the subtlest movement of the birds. I have keenly observed their habits. This world is beautiful, and if you are a nature photographer or an observer, you know all the aspects about nature. Salim Ali had once said that if a person does not pursue the hobby of bird watching,he would not know what to do after his retirement. I am just following his words, he adds with a smile.
