Basketball: Fergusson win trophy

Fergusson College lifted the Christ College Inter-Collegiate Basketball Trophy on Saturday,defeating arch rivals Shree Parshurambhau College 72-61.

S P College defeated JDV 74-50 and Fergusson defeated Nowrosjee Wadia 50-39 in the semifinals of the tournament,which was played amongst the top 10 basketball teams under the jurisdiction of the University of Pune.

Anand Joshy of S P College won the award for highest scorer of the tournament with 69 points overall.

Yogesh Barme of Fergusson College was adjudged the best player,while Richardson from the home team Christ College was chosen the most promising talent.
