An unidentified autorickshaw driver robbed a foreign national near the private bus stand in Sangamwadi on Saturday late evening.
Hussain Abdul Aziz Jasim (22),a native of Bahrain,who is studying in Pune,lodged the police complaint at the Bund Garden police station.
The case has been transferred to the Yerawada police station.
Police sub-inspector A D Sonawane,the investigation officer,said,Hussain has come from Bahrain to Pune for studies. He is in second year BCom at Indira College in Wakad. He stays at Bramha Avenue on NIBM Road.
He was going to Mumbai and hired a rickshaw for airport. But at 11.30 pm,the rickshaw driver stopped at Sangamwadi in Yerawada and took his lap top,Blackberry phone and Rs 5,000 cash and air ticket and fled. We have launched a search for the autorickshaw driver, Sonwane said.
