‘Avoid politicising human rights violation issues’

We cannot blame a specific political party or government, for violation of human rights in the country.

“We cannot blame a specific political party or government, for violation of human rights in the country. When human rights are violated,we,the political class and governments should take collective responsibility. We cannot play politics on such an issue,” said Shatrugan Sinha,BJP leader and former Union minister of Health. He was speaking at a function organised at Bharati Vidyapeeth’s New Law College on Friday to mark the occasion of World Human Rights Day. Adish Agrawala, president,All India Bar Association was also present on the occasion.

“How can human rights violations rise in the country when we say that we are an atomic power. Currently our country is facing issues like Naxalism. Why we cannot stay together when the Naxalites and the government’s both talk about the development and upliftment of poor. We have to find a solution to this issue so that we can leave a better country for our generations to come,” he said.

Sinha distributed awards to students and social activists working for human rights causes on the occasion. Adressing the students,he said,“ One should have conviction and confidence to succeed in life. Also,if you cannot be better than everyone else, try to be different.” Mukund Sarda, principal of the New Law College was also present.
