Assault on guard by Nimhan condemned

Politicians cutting across party lines condemned Congress MLA Vinayak Nimhan for assaulting the security guard outside the Express office on Sunday.

Shiv Sena MLC Neelam Gorhe said,We strongly condemn such acts against a poor citizen who was performing his duty. I will definitely raise the issue in the house. Very strong legal action should be taken against such politicians who indulge in such acts.

BJP corporator Vikas Mathkari and his supporters organised a silent protest on Monday,against Nimhan. Mathkari and his supporters gathered outside the Express office and displayed flex boards in protest against Nimhan. Mathkari said through a press release,We strongly condemn such acts of violence by political leaders. We will be demanding suspension of the police constable who was accompanying Nimhan when all this happened. Abhay Chhajed,Pune city chief of Congress said,It is definitely unfortunate. But we need to know both sides of the matter before we come to any conclusion. Maharashtra Navanirman Sena’s (MNS) Pune city chief Prakash Dhore said,This is really a condemnable act. A political leader like him should not have done this.
