Charity Walk and Run to be held tomorrow

Pune Running,an informal running group,willhold a special Charity Walk and Run named Pune Running Beyond Myself on October 6. The proceeds from this event will go to KEM Hospitals for less privileged infants in the Neonatal ICU. Model Milind Soman will take part in the 21.5 km-long half marathon.

NGO gets $39,000 grant from US foundation

Vanrai,an NGO that works in the field of environment and rural development,has received a $39,000 grant from the UPS Foundation,a US-based charitable organisation.The grant will be used towards establishment of eco-clubs in 250 schools in rural and semi-urban areas of the district.

New scholarship started for SC students

The state government has started a new scholarship scheme for students belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category. This will be given to students who have their annual income below Rs 2 lakh and are students of class IX and X.
