ARDSI’s interactive session to mark World Alzheimer’s Day

The Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Society of India (ARDSI) Pune Chapter in association with Sir Parshurambhau College will organise an interactive session to mark the World Alzheimer’s Day on September 21.

The Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Society of India (ARDSI) Pune Chapter in association with Sir Parshurambhau College will organise an interactive session to mark the World Alzheimer’s Day on September 21.

The event will see participation from families of afflicted patients,caregivers,professionals and experts in dementia care.

The event will be inaugurated and chaired by Dr S D Gokhale,president,ARDSI Pune Chapter and president ILC-I,Dr Ullhas Luktuke,consultant psychiatrist and Rony George,secretary general ARDSI Pune Chapter and director CMHCC.

Dementia and Alzheimers’ disease are the two major areas of concern in the field of mental health. India has also awakened to the reality that there are 3.7 million patients afflicted by these mental health problems as they age. According to Dementia India Report,2010,by 2030,the number of Indians who would suffer from the diseases would be 7 million.
