Vinod Manohar Lakhan, who was arrested on charges of duping over 300 women from self-help groups on the pretext of disbursing loans, fled from the washroom of his ward despite being guarded by two policemen.

Two constables, who were on duty when Lakhan escaped, were suspended late on Thursday night, for negligence in performing duties.
