The 58th Annual Armed Forces Medical Conference,including the 48th Armed Forces Medical Research Committee (AFMRC) conference will be held at the Armed Forces Medical College,Pune from February 2-5.
The conference is the largest gathering of military medical personnel in the country,said a press note. AFMRC is a unique professional medical conference in the country,as practitioners of all specialities in medical science come together to discuss research and other professional issues. AFMRC is expected to provide fresh impetus to research focused on health care issues affecting the Armed Forces.
The conference will be inaugurated by Lt Gen NK Parmar,director general,Armed Forces Medical Services. AFMRC will also focus on quality of care being provided all over the country and even abroad in health care establishments of the Armed Forces Medical services.
The thrust of research will be directed at improving the understanding of health care issues affecting the Armed Forces. Almost 134 new research proposals will be considered.
Out of these,24 been submitted by AFMC,Pune. Some of these projects are likely to have a far-reaching impact on healthcare in the country,said the note.
While the principal focus of research is related to the requirements of the Armed Forces,the results achieved are made available to all healthcare professionals in the country.
The 58th Armed Forces Medical Conference will include a meeting of the Armed Forces Medical Research committee to consider and sanction all proposals for research. Awards will be presented to 25 personnel for academic excellence by the DGAFMS.
