And after hearing her speak with a lot of passion about western classical music and its finer nuances and intricacies, the initial opinions that one has about her are reiterated.
For me,music ran deep in my family, and I was asked to take up music as a career when my parents and my aunt saw my interest and inclination towards it. I began learning piano under the guidence of my mother and then slowly progressed to learning under various tutors, says Acosta about her musical beginnings. Having performed in front of audiences across the globe she feels that working with a wide range of artistes has helped enrich her own music style.
In addition she has also given performances in front of a wide range of audiences while she was conferred the Philippine Presidential Awards for overseas Filipino individuals and organisations. She had performed in front of H E Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and former President Fidel Ramos. Speaking about that she says,It was indeed a wonderful feeling to perform in front of them and was a greater honour to have been chosen to perform there.
Acosta who will be giving her maiden performance in the city today at the Mazda Hall in Camp says,Although I really do not know much about the city,I have heard that it is the hub of classical music and I think it would be a unique experience to perform here.
