The town planning department has received 41 objections with regard to the implementation of the ABC council regulations outside the corporation limits pertaining to change in development control rules in the regional plan.

The town planning department has received 41 objections with regard to the implementation of the ABC council regulations outside the corporation limits pertaining to change in development control rules in the regional plan.

The development which would see modifications in the control rules in the regional plan outside the city limits is up for suggestions and objections. Deputy director town planning AB Patil said 41 objections have been received and will be forwarded to the government by month end.

For the road network in the fringe areas, the department has received 25 objections. “There are several suggestions and objections for road network which was planned for developing outside the corporation limits. There are several suggestions which can be considered. We would be forwarding it to the state government,’’said Patil.

The town planning department after the hearing on the suggestions and objections on the status of the plot on Vetal Tekdi will be forwarding the letter to the defence and forest department next week. “I will be forwarding the letter next week and then the further hearings would be carried out,’’ he added.

The town planning department’s three-day hearing on suggestions and objections given by a group of activists on a proposal to change the status of a plot on Vetal Tekdi from ‘hilltop/ hill-slope zone’ and include it in ‘public/ semi-public zone’ concluded on Wednesday where green activists had objected to the proposed project of Automotive Research Association of India (Arai) on the hill.

The town planning department will now communicate the same with the forest department and the defence personnel. A separate hearing, apart from a spot visit, before submitting its report to the government is scheduled by the department after the state government had proposed the change to pave way for construction on Vetal Tekdi for Arai.

The public hearing saw activists and residents of the area strongly objecting to the proposed change of zone and the project. They also raised questions about the existing building of Arai on Vetal Tekdi, alleging that it was standing on reserved forest land, where no construction was allowed.Various non-governmental organisations, social organisations, senior citizens’ groups, resident of the surrounding area and green organisations submitted their objections to the department. With most objections on construction on forest land,we need to know whether the same is on forest land.
