With the announcement of the format of the local body elections of Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis in the state, the groundwork for building election fronts in now truly underway, the AAP said.
Against this backdrop, today, AAP state spokesperson Mukund Kirdat announced at a press conference in Pune that all Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samiti and municipal elections in Pune district will be contested independently.
“73 groups and 146 “gans” have been determined in Pune district. It was said today that Aam Aadmi Party will contest all these seats independently and will start the process of determining candidates for them. While offering new options, this will be an opportunity for many honest political activists who could not contest any election for many years due to the established dynastic rule. “The party is working in Junnar, Ambegaon, Maval areas in opposition to smart meters, seeking justice for displaced victims abnd basic facilities for tribals. For the first time, the party’s characterful workers who are leading the party in rural areas will be given a chance through these elections. Youth who think that politics is not a business of making money but a medium for social work and bringing about change were appealed to join the parties on this occasion,” Pune District (West, North) President Vaibhav Temkar said, adding that they will contest this election through people’s donations.
