Art,they say,is therapy. But for Tripat Lall, art is something that urged her to change her 20-year-old profession as a teacher and choose the canvas instead. The setting changed drastically for her,and from blackboards and mundane Science lessons,Lall soon found herself sporting artistic dreams,by dabbling in colours. Exhibiting her paintings for the first time in Pune at Malaka Spice,Koregaon Park,Lall’s enthusiasm is easy to associate to.
The exhibition, which will begin from September 16 and go on till September 30,is based on the theme of flowers and nature. Talking about her first exhibition,Lall says,It feels great to finally be able to pursue what I wanted to do. In fact, art is something that I have yearned to do for a long time. Her exhibition will have around 18 paintings, all related to nature. So what made Lall take up art? I always wanted to pursue art,but then I got into teaching and got too involved in it. I ended up painting only on weekends, but it was not enough for me. So I decided to take it up full-time.
But its the unending passion that she associates with art that keeps her glued to it. It’s strange – no matter how long I work,I don’t get tired. There is no fatigue, and I feel visibly refreshed after painting. I think it is therapeutic for me, she concludes.
