The Thulium laser 2010 nm cyber TM technique was recently introduced in the city for the first time,by Dr Ketan Vartak. This technique is mainly used in treatment surgeries like vaporisation of prostate,vapo-enucleation of prostate,bladder tumours,neck insertion,gynaecology,haemorrhoids,dermatology,neurosurgery,laparoscopy,and so on. The technology is largely adopted by urologists who opt for laser treatment for prostate conditions. After a successfull trial of the demo version of the technique,Dr Vartak decided to import the technique to his clinic.

The potential advantages of the laser therapy include less bleeding ,faster patient recovery time,shorter hospital stay,minimal side effects and minimal risk of any dysfunction. Pramodini Urology Foundation on FC road recently acquired the most advanced 120 watt Thulium laser. It is only the second high-powered Thulium laser in India and the first in Maharashtra. This technique has revolutionised prostatic enlargement & treatment of bladder tumours. With so many advantages attached to it,this treatment is available at a relatively affordable cost in Pune than in any other metro city.
