A manual to solve problems of housing societies

A seminar on problems of housing societies was held in the library hall of Sancheti Hospital recently and saw as many as 130 participants.

A seminar on problems of housing societies was held in the library hall of Sancheti Hospital recently and saw as many as 130 participants. Organised by the Concern for Governance Trust,Pune chapter,the seminar was chaired by BJ Misar,member of its Advisory Council. Madhukar Chaudhari,IAS Commissioner and Registrar-Cooperative,Pune Division,was the chief guest.

Chaudhari said the cooperative department was drafting a ‘Housing Manual ‘ to address the grievances of housing societies. The manual is expected to be ready in two months. Kiran Sonawane,Deputy Registrar,Cooperatives,Pune,said the problems of the housing societies can be categorised as problems within and outside the society and spoke about the mechanism to address the grievances of the societies. He also pointed out various provisions of the Act that govern societies and apartments. Suhar Patwardhan,president,Pune District Housing Society Federation,spoke about the role of federation in guiding the housing societies and also cited various examples on how the federation has helped the societies in resolving their grievances in and around Pune city.
