42 contract workers made permanent

At a time of global economic slowdown,42 contractor workers with industrial unit Exide Battery were made permanent last week,said a press release from the Rashtrawadi Maharastra General Kamgar Union. Somnath Shinde,vice president of the union,said that talks had been going on for six months between the management and the union about making them permanent. It was finally resolved last week in the presence of officers from the labour commissionerate,said Shinde.
