2 held for murder of garden guard

Pune police have arrested two for the murder of a security guard,Subhash Bhagwan Shinde,whose body was found at Ram Manohar Lohiya Garden in Hadapsar.

Pune police have arrested two for the murder of a security guard,Subhash Bhagwan Shinde,whose body was found at Ram Manohar Lohiya Garden in Hadapsar on Monday. Investigations reveal Shinde also worked as a moneylender and his murder could have been the fallout of a financial dispute.

The suspects have been identified as Maruti Kishan Khulkhule (22),resident of Gangakhed in Parbhani and Dnayndev Gulab Thorat (45) of Dahava mail,Wadki Nala.

Senior Inspector Pandharinath Mandhare said the post mortem report pointed that he was hit by a hard object on the head. After Shinde’s mobile phone,that had gone missing after the murder,was located in Udgir,a police team reached the place and nabbed Khulkhule. During interrogation he admitted that he and his accomplice Thorat had murdered Shinde.

Khulkhule had taken a loan of Rs 15,000 and Thorat had taken Rs 1 lakh from Shinde. When they failed to repay,Shinde gave them repeated reminders which upset Khulkhule and Thorat. On Monday,they allegedly had a an argument with Shinde in his room and then hit his head with a brick. Shinde collapsed on the ground and the duo assaulted him with a wooden stick causing his death,police said.

The investigation team comprised sub inspector B K Chavan,havaldar Sunil Jagdale,naik Babasaheb Karche,Pradeep Shitole,Vinod Bhandalkar,Ravi Chippa,Santosh Mohite,Datta Telang and Sandip Dalvi.

Police said Shinde had been working at the garden for seven years. He was living alone.
