101st batch of jail guards completes training at JOTC

The 101st batch of jail guards comprising 79 men and 20 women passed out of the Daulatrao Jadhav Jail Officer Training College (JOTC) on Monday after completion of their six-month training.

The 101st batch of jail guards comprising 79 men and 20 women passed out of the Daulatrao Jadhav Jail Officer Training College (JOTC) on Monday after completion of their six-month training.

The passing out parade was held on the JOTC ground in Yerawada. Sanjay Chahande,Director General of the Yashwantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration (YASHADA),who was the chief guest on the occasion,received the guard of honour from the new recruits.

The Daulatrao Jadhav JOTC was established in 1955 for the training of the state’s jail department staffers.

The parade was led by Jaywant Rajendra Wagh. The new recruits who received awards were Nandini Laxman Warathe for class studies,Rahul Parmeshwar Garad for shooting,Jaywant Wagh for ground activities and Samadhan Shivaji Pawar for all-round performance.

Additional Director General of Police (Prisons) Meeran Borwankar,DIGs Rajendra Dhamane and Swati Sathe,Yerawada Central Prison superintendent Yogesh Desai and JOTC principal R V Kamble were present at the parade. Jailers Hemant Patil,Prakash Ukarande,S M Nighot,N N Chondhe and Prakash Paikrao coordinated the event.
