CM Nitish Kumar visits Patna ghats to inspect increased Ganga water level, asks officials to remain alert
The Bihar CM also instructed officials to relocate people living in low-lying areas if the water level further increases.

(X/Nitish Kumar)Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday visited several ghats in Patna to inspect the increased level of water of River Ganga, and asked officials to remain alert and be prepared to tackle any situation.
The CM, accompanied by senior officials of several departments, visited Kangan Ghat, LCT Ghat, NIT Ghat and Nasriganj Ghat.
“The CM inspected the situation at different ghats in the state capital where the water level of Ganga was rising. He asked officials of the department concerned and district administration to remain in a state of preparedness and alert to tackle the situation,” a statement issued by the chief minister’s office said.
He also instructed officials to relocate people living in low-lying areas if the water level further increases.
The water level in River Ganga has crossed the danger mark at Maner, Gandhi Ghat, Hathidah and some more places due to recent rain. The water level of various rivers has been rising across the state in view of incessant rain over the past two-three days, officials said.
The CM also inspected the work that was being carried out along the J P Ganga Path for the development of a park near LCT Ghat. The park is part of Patna Smart City project.
