The ACS said the Cabinet also doubled the annual award for primary, secondary, high school and higher-secondary teachers from Rs 15,000 to Rs 30,000.
The Bihar Cabinet on Tuesday gave clearance for the construction of two hotels in Rajgir and one five-star resort in Vaishali as part of efforts to boost tourism in the state. The Cabinet also decided to double the annual awards for teachers, from Rs 15,000 to Rs 30,000.
After the Cabinet meeting, Additional Chief Secretary (Cabinet department) S Siddharth told reporters, “The government has given the nod to the tourism department’s proposal to construct two hotels on 10 acres of land available near the Mela Ground in Rajgir and a five-star hotel at the 10 acres of land near Buddha Samyak Darshan-cum-memorial and stupa in Vaishali.”
The ACS said the two hotels and resort would be constructed and operated under the provisions of the Infrastructure Development Enabling (Amendment) Act, 2023. The government, he said, would provide land on lease to private developers, who will carry out the construction of the hotels on the said land.

The ACS said the Cabinet also doubled the annual award for primary, secondary, high school and higher-secondary teachers from Rs 15,000 to Rs 30,000. “Earlier, barely one or two teachers would get the award, but last year, 42 teachers got the award. We have not put a cap on the number of awardees,” he said.
To give a further boost to the students, the state government has decided to keep the fees for filling the forms for the prelims of the Bihar Public Service Commission, the Bihar Staff Selection Commission, the Bihar Technical Service Commission, the Bihar Police Sub-Ordinate Commission, and Central Constable Selection Board examinations to Rs 100. Those writing the mains will not have to pay any fees.
