A 21-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by unidentified assailants at Patna’s Saidpur Hostel, police said on Friday.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Chandan, a resident of Warisaliganj block in Nawada district. ASP Atulesh Jha said that Friday morning, Bahadurpur police received information that a man had been shot at Saidpur Hostel around 4 am.
“Upon reaching the location, the team identified the dead individual as Chandan… During primary investigation it is learnt that he has been shot dead during a personal dispute,” the ASP said.

Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from the area and questioning potential witnesses to ascertain the exact sequence of events and the motive behind the shooting. Multiple angles are being investigated, including personal enmity and student rivalry. According to police, the deceased was a second-semester student in the Personnel Management and Industrial Relations department of Patna University.
