After initially treating the case of an eight-year-old boy who was found dead in Chembur in August last year as an accident,cops on Thursday booked the victims father for murder. The move comes after forensic results revealed that the victim died of strangulation. The incident had taken place at the Bharat Nagar slums in Chembur on August 20 last year.
The victim,Aniket,was found dead in a water container and we suspected that he had drowned. However,forensic reports have said that he was strangulated. We have filed a case of murder against the boys father who is currently absconding, said senior police inspector Dilip Yadav. Investigations had revealed that the boys father,Parappa Gorse,may have killed him and dumped his body in a water container.
