In a retort to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who asked NCP leader Sharad Pawar to retire, Baramati MP and Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule on Wednesday asked how age can be the matter of concern and added that she can tolerate anything except comments on her father and mother. She was speaking at the meeting organised by Sharad Pawar's group within the NCP. “I heard someone telling my father to retire. Sometimes I feel we girls are far better. When it comes to fight and struggle, we just take the lead,” Sule said. “It was in 2019 when this 80-year-old man fought in the Assembly polls and brought good days for all of us. And now people are telling him to retire. How can age be the matter of concern? Ratan Tata is doing his business, Amitabh is still acting, Poonawala is runnig his business. Nobody tells them to retire. Then why are you telling Pawar to retire?” asked Sule. She pointed out that the BJP had called the NCP as naturally corrupt party and it needed the NCP for the swearing in ceremony. “Guess, which is the biggest corrupt party in India now?” asked Sule, as crowd shouted the BJP's name. Sule said that she is using the stage to make a demand to give 33% seats to women in upcoming elections.
