It may well be said that Prabhudheva is being looked upon as some sort of a messiah who resurrects careers of waning film stars. The choreographer-filmmaker pushed both Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar back into the list of top stars that yield box-office hits with Wanted and Rowdy Rathore that he directed. He has now signed on Shahid Kapoor for his next film. The movie,titled Namak,is based in Madhya Pradesh and subscribes to the popular action genre. With a string of debacles over the last few years on his resume,the actor sure could do with Prabhudhevas magic touch.
The Joke is on Joker
The word out is that Shirish Kunders Joker has been sold to UTV for Rs 40 crore. The director insists that the film has fetched a good amount since it was made at a budget of Rs 30 crore. The industry,however,knows better. The films budget exceeded Rs 70 crore and the film has been sold at a loss. Due to this,Joker is no more being converted into 3D. Also,Akshay Kumar seems to have washed his hands off the project,even though he is on board as one of the producers. The actor,in an interview recently,even called Joker a childrens film. Well,what more can be said about a film that has UFOs flying over a village,threatening to attack,while the hero plays a scientist attempting to communicate and reason with them.
