A key Chhota Rajan aide identified as Osama was allegedly killed by members of a rival gang in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday evening. Osama wanted in cases in Mumbai was one of Rajans trusted aides,said Mumbai Police Crime Branch officials.
A senior Crime Branch official said he was shot at five times and succumbed to injuries soon after. Osama was killed by members of a rival branch at Allahabad in UP on Sunday. He was shot at five times and died instantly. He was one of Rajans top aides and often did his work, he said.
A Crime Branch source said Osama handled the gangsters UP operations.
Osama was arrested by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch in connection with the murder of another Rajan aide Farid Tanasha. Tanasha was shot at his Tilak Nagar residence in Mumbai. Officials investigating the case,however,let Osama off the hook. We had arrested him in connection with Tanashas murder,but let him off later, said a Crime Branch official.
Osama was also acquitted by the sessions court in connection with a double murder at the court. He was arrested by the Colaba Police,but was later acquitted. He was also reportedly wanted in another case by the DN Nagar police.
