A sessions court in Dindoshi in a recent order allowed the anticipatory bail application of a Shiv Sena (UBT) member against whom a complaint was filed for allegedly publishing an ‘objectionable’ post about the Chief Minister on social media. The Dindoshi court on Monday allowed the pre-arrest bail plea of Hemant Palav, who was earlier granted interim protection from arrest.
Palav’s lawyers had said that there was no offence made out against him and that his custodial interrogation was not necessary. They also said that the case was politically motivated.
The complaint was given by the women members of CM Eknath Shinde-led Sena, who claimed that the post through the words used, had caused insult to their modesty. The court said that considering the nature of offences, custodial interrogation was not necessary and granted him pre-arrest bail with certain conditions.
Among the conditions is that he shall not make any comments related to the case ‘which hurt the feelings of the public at large’.
