Two held with mephedrone worth Rs 50 cr in Bhandup

According to the NCB officials, the two men were caught on March 22 and 46.8 kg of white colour powdery substance suspected to be Mephedrone (MD) were allegedly seized from their possession.

“The drug was hidden in a plastic container at the residence of one accused,” an officer said.

During the course of the investigation, the officials learnt that one of the two arrested accused had manufactured the narcotics substance in a laboratory located at Mahad Industrial area in Raigad.

“This clandestine lab was raided thereafter and a suspicious chemical was seized,” the officials said.

Subsequently, it came to light that the main accused was previously booked by the DRI in two cases and was out on bail when he committed the crime.
