Trader alleges assault,threat by constable

“The alleged incident happened on Thursday when a shoe stall owner,Irfan Sheikh (26),was returning home. On the way,he stopped to admire a motorbike parked on a side of the road. It reportedly belonged to his friend. But a man called Milind Vichare alleged that Sheikh wanted to steal the vehicle and had a verbal duel with him. Following this,Vichare and his friends allegedly thrashed Sheikh. He later called up his elder brother constable Kishore Vichare,a driver of a combat vehicle that patrols Chembur and Nehru Nagar,” said senior inspector Prakash Kale of Nehru Nagar police station.

He had then allegedly taken Sheikh to the Nehru Nagar police station. “We have submitted a report on the incident to the DCP. It mentioned the misuse of the combat vehicle and Vichare’s alleged high handedness. We are yet to be notified on what action will be taken against him,” said Kale.
