From Nariman Point, the coastal freeway would be a tunnel under the Marine Drive till the Princess Street flyover on Marine Drive. The tunnel has been recommended as an option, which may be omitted based on traffic studies,in which case traffic would use the existing Marine Drive.
The tunnel under Marine Drive continues as a bored tunnel under the Malabar Hill. (Total tunnel length proposed is 5 km). The tunnel under Malabar Hill exits beyond Napean Sea Road, the exit point on the seaward side beyond Priyadarshini Park. The tunnel is located under the Priyadarshini Park to avoid impacting the open green space here.
From here,a coastal road on reclamation (2.95-km-long) is proposed up to the Haji Ali Junction.
Further, another road on reclamation adjoining Lala Lajpatrai Road up to the National Sports Club of India meets a connector bridge (300 m) to connect the reclamation road to the Baroda Palace point from where a coastal road on reclamation is proposed up to Worli, right up to the Bandra-Worli Sea Link (BWSL).
The coastal freeway connects to the BWSL on the Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan Road on the Worli Sea Face.
The Bandra end of the BWSL is proposed to be connected further with a loop interchange (650-m-long) and a reclaimed road (850 m) skirting around the Bandra Fort,to continue as a road on reclamation (1.1 km) along the Bandstand area with a promenade on the seaside up to the southern end of Chimbai village. This road will run parallel to the Bandstand Road. At the Chimbai village bay,a bridge (550 m) is proposed to accommodate passage of fishing boats.
Further northward of the Chimbai Bridge, various roads have been proposed towards Malad-Marve,including a reclaimed road (1.8-km-long) adjoining Carter Road,an elevated road (1.15-km-long) near Khar Danda village to accommodate fishing boats under it,a tunnel under Juhu Airport (4.25 km) that exits near Ritambhara College.
Further north, other roads recommended are an elevated road near Nana Nani Park and Seven Bungalows area,a road on the existing land (where no mangroves exist) and partly reclaimed in the mangrove area between Oshiwara to Mindspace, with bridges proposed on the intervening creeklets and a stilted road (2.3-km-long) along the creek leading to Goregaon Sports Club, then going over the creek till the Malad-Marve Road. If the reclamation is not possible, more stilted roads are proposed along this stretch.
