Traffic snarls expected on Thane’s Ghodbunder Road on Sunday due to repair work; no entry for heavy vehicles

To avoid the likely heavy traffic issues, authorities have urged commuters to plan their journeys, allow extra travel time, and, if possible, avoid peak hours. Local residents and daily commuters have also been advised to use alternate routes wherever possible.

Vehicles coming from Mumbai and Thane towards Ghodbunder will face entry restrictions at Majivada VY Junction and Kapurbawdi Chowk. These vehicles will be diverted along alternative routes via Kharegaon toll naka, Mankoli, Anjur Phata or Kasheli, and then to Anjur Phata.

Heavy vehicles travelling from Mumbai via the Mumbra Bypass on the Mumbai-Nashik Highway will also face restrictions at Kharegaon toll naka and will be rerouted along Kharegaon toll naka, Mankoli, and Anjur Phata.

Similarly, vehicles coming from Nashik towards Ghodbunder will be stopped at Mankoli and redirected via the Mankoli underbridge to the Anjur Phata route.

Light vehicles heading towards Ghodbunder will be able to pass through the repair area using the opposite lane, but motorists are advised to follow traffic police instructions carefully.
