After being a fixture in her father Pandit Ravi Shankar’s concerts for quite a while and undertaking some interesting world music projects, sitar player and Grammy-nominated musician Anoushka Shankar will be in India to re-trace the similarity between Indian classical music and flamenco. Shankar will perform in Delhi and Mumbai,to promote her album Traveler (Deutche Gramophone). Her last concert in India was two years back, before she gave birth to a boy last year.

“The music in the album is extremely different from what Anoushka has worked on in the past. She has largely done Indian classical and world music. In these concerts, you will get to hear some interesting instrumental lines, which will be presented with Spanish music and some flamenco dances,” says Ferzad Palia,Business Head,VH1 India. Produced by Spanish producer Javier Limon, the album comprises nine tracks. For the concert,a Spanish troupe with an array of musicians and dancers will be flown in.
