Rising Stars recorded a 1-0 win against Phoenix Sports Club in a Division III match of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) League at the St Xaviers ground,Parel on Wednesday.

Mikhail Tandel did the star turn by scoring lone goal for the winners. Meanwhile in other action,Datta Krida Mandal overcame Tarun Mitra Mandal 3-2 in a close encounter and Oscar Foundation put it across Ruffians SC 2-1 in another evenly contested match to earn all three points. Theophil Almeida,Bernard Rosario and Faizaz Thakur scored the goals for Datta Krida while Shubham Lagad netted a brace in vain.

Indian Tigers ‘B’ though were held to a 1-1 draw by Aristocrat. Oscar Foundation triumphed over Ruffians SC with a narrow 2-1 margin. Chirah Baria and Santosh Pawar scored for Oscar,while Athikho Kayina kept his team in the match with a goal.

Prithvir Jhaveri,Amaan Jaikrishan and Aryan Trehan scored a goal each in The Cathedral & John Connon’s 3-0 thrashing of Swami Vivekanand from Borivali in a Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) boys’ under-16 Division II-D clash at the Castrol MSSA centre in Azad Maidan on Wednesday.
