The Goregaon police on Wednesday arrested a spot boy at Filmistan Studio after a friend whom he stabbed in a fit of rage succumbed to his injuries. The accused,identified as Achelal Bharadwaj (33),repeatedly stabbed his friend Dinesh Gori (20) on Tuesday night after a heated argument.
Both were employed at the Filmistan Studio located on SV Road and while Bharadwaj resides in a shanty outside the studio,Gori was a resident of Jawahar Nagar in Goregaon west.
According to the police,Bharadwaj came home from work on Tuesday night and saw Gori and his friends sitting on his porch and drinking liquor. Agitated at this,Bharadwaj scolded them and asked them to leave as he wanted to sleep. Enraged at Bharadwajs behaviour,Gori and his friends beat up Bharadwaj. In a fit of rage,an injured Bharadwaj went inside his house and got a kitchen knife. He then stabbed Gori several times in his stomach.
Gori ran back to his house and was rushed to a private doctor who covered the wound with bandages. He was then taken to Siddharth Hospital where the doctors allegedly refused to treat him as it was a police case and referred him to Cooper Hospital, said Senior Police Inspector Surendra Paithankar from the Goregaon police station. Police further said that Gori died while being operated upon at Cooper Hospital.
