A day after two youths jumped into the Lok Sabha from the viewer’s gallery, the editor of a newspaper was detained in the Maharashtra Assembly after he created a ruckus by hurling abuses at legislators from the press gallery when the House was in session.
Prakash Pohare, chief editor of Deshonnati, a Marathi newspaper, shouted slogans against the government questioning why it was not doing enough for the Vidarbha region. As he was being escorted out by security personnel and brought down to the ground floor, Pohare began speaking to the members of the press. Thereupon, he was detained by police officials.
BJP MLA Ashish Shelar raised the issue at the Assembly to which protem speaker Chetan Vitthal Tupe said in response that the miscreant was being questioned and action would be taken aganst him.
