Even as the Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratories,Kalina,is yet to give out the results of tests on the viscera of model Viveka Babajee, sources said traces of skin were found under her nails, samples of which have also been sent for tests.

“Some skin with epithelial cells was found under the nails… Further tests are on and only after a consultation between the police and lab, will it be decided whether the blood samples of suspects in the case,if any, have to be taken,” one of them said.

FSL director MV Garad refused to comment, saying tests were yet to be concluded.

Babajee, found hanging at her Bandra residence on June 25,had left a note in a diary mentioning the name of her alleged boyfriend Gautam Vora. The Khar police had questioned Vora and her other friends, besides family members.

“We have also sent some tablets that were found in Babajee’s flat for tests. The medicines, however, were those found in every home, like general medicines for cough and cold. The forensic report on tests on her viscera will reveal whether she had consumed poison or any harmful substance before dying,” an official said.

Babajee’s autopsy had thrown up a contention that she might have consumed poison before hanging herself.

The police have also sent Babajee’s laptop for examination. The model’s family had,at a news conference, claimed they had found several photographs of Babajee and Vora from her Gmail and Facebook accounts. There were also allegations that some photos had been deleted from her laptop.
