Six held for man’s murder in Bhandup

Six persons were arrested by the Bhandup Police on Wednesday evening for allegedly murdering a 29-year-old man on Tuesday night.

Six persons were arrested by the Bhandup Police on Wednesday evening for allegedly murdering a 29-year-old man on Tuesday night. Police said the victim was killed by a group of six men,as one of the accused had a one-sided affair with the victim’s wife and wanted her to leave her husband.

The victim,identified as Rajendra Narvekar,is a resident of Wadala in central Mumbai and worked as a security guard at a mall in Bhandup. Narvekar had come to visit his wife at her parents house in Bhandup. The incident took place near the Madras Cafe Circle in Bhandup (West) late on Tuesday night.

The accused — Ravi Chandalia alias Salman,his brother Vijay,Sandeep Tushamar alias Miranda,Ravi Taka,Yogesh Bidlan and Sunny Lohera — were arrested on Wednesday evening. Shrirang Nadgauda,senior police inspector of the Bhandup police said Salman liked Narvekar’s wife and wanted her to leave her husband.

“While Narvekar was walking towards her house,the six accused accosted him and stabbed him with a sword and chopper,” Nadgauda said. “They have confessed to the crime and will be produced in court on Thursday,” DCP (Zone 7) Sanjay Shintre said.
