Singer arrested for raping,cheating live-in partner

According to the police,the couple,who was in a live-in relationship for the past three years,had drawn up a contract,according to which either of them could file a case of cheating if the other went back on his/her promise of getting married.

In 2010,Tiwari,who is also a guitar player,left the girl without informing her and bought a house in Malwani,Malad.

“The woman tried to find Tiwari,but could not locate him. However,a few months ago,she found Tiwari,who then apologised to her and they got back toegther,” said AA Shaikh,senior inspector of Malwani police station.

Two months ago,Tiwari left the woman again and refused to marry her,following which she approached the police and gave a written application.

After the police scrutinised the contract between the two,they arrested Tiwari on charges of rape and cheating.

“I want the police to punish Tiwari so that he doesn’t spoil any woman’s life by making false promises,” the woman said.
