Maverick jewellery designs and fashion’s fastidious pomp marked Day 4 of LFW

Designer DJ

Narendra Kumar’s line inspired by the song Moves Like Jagger wrapped up the fourth day of LFW. A shift from his Winter/Festive collection, the Summer/Resort line brought out a burst of colours such as orange, pink, earthy greens and browns. One ensemble featured a maroon jacket with red sleeves,a light blue shirt with darker cuffs and blue pants. Red shoes, already picking up among men across cities, complemented this ensemble. Kumar didn’t croon in karaoke style as he did in the previous season, but didn’t sit quietly in the wings either. Instead,he chose to wear one of the mop-shaped wigs that were nothing like Mick Jagger’s hairdo and played DJ on stage.

The models did their best to dance to the beat and while their moves weren’t perfect, the line, suave and smooth, certainly was.

Wearing drama

Conceptual jewellery designer Eina Ahluwalia pushed the boundaries of creativity to come up with an unorthodox accessory line. Called The Forgotten Jewel,it had cigarette boxes and small egg shapes as pendants. The eye, coupled with monocles, also featured prominently, but the most striking piece was a giant heart pendant handcuffed to the model’s wrists. This was followed by another heart shaped pendant — only this one had arteries, veins and nerves gleaming under arch lights. The creations — mainly neckpieces and cuffs made out of thick gold-plated rope chains were what drama is all about. Wearability? That’s another story.
